Change in Powerplay rules by ICC

What is Powerplay, in cricket there has been a restriction to keep only two fielders outside of the 30 yards circle during the first 15 over’s. In 2005 ICC introduced Powerplay with the condition that first ten will be considered as Powerplay one and rest two Powerplay’s, five over’s each, can be taken by the fielding side any time during the innings. Three men are allowed outside the 30 yard circle in either second and third Powerplay.

 

Starting October 2008, ICC has given right to batting side to choose when to introduce either second or third Powerplay. Fielding side can keep 3 men outside the 30 yard circle during second and third Powerplay.
